Sustainable Living Events – Aug-Sep

As the slow season of winter continues to wrap itself around us, events are scattered more lightly throughout the months, which feels nice. There’s just a handful of sustainability presentations & workshops coming up, but they’re all really good ones.

We’ve got a cosy author talk about Everyday Permaculture with Mornington Libraries; an exciting combo presentation-workshop on composting & worm farming at Down’s Community Farm in Seaford thanks to Frankston Council; and an exploration of scraptastic, low-waste cooking with Manningham Council.

Then it’s time for the brilliant annual Zero Waste Festival with Zero Waste Victoria and City of Melbourne at Fed Square! The festival goes all day, with fun group activities for the kids; panel discussions on some awesome topics; low-waste food trucks; exhibitors with all sorts of zero-waste initiatives; various swaps (clothes! fabric! books!), a repair cafe, and more. I’ll be joining a great panel to talk about how to incorporate sustainable actions into your everyday life at 2pm, but take the train in and make a day of it – you on’t be disappointed!

We’d love to see you at one (or more!) of these events, and be sure to subscribe at the bottom of this page if you want info on following months’ free events.
