We’re heading into the depths of winter here in Victoria, and school holidays are just around the corner. What better way to bring a little lightness and cheer than by coming along to a free workshop where you can learn some fun sustainable skills?!
To kick off the month, we’re having a mega eco-crafty day in Merri-Bek, and it’s all about the kids! We’ll be running two very exciting hands-on crafting workshops where kids can learn basic sewing & weaving skills to transform unwanted old clothes into desirable items they’ll want to use. As it’s Plastic Free July, we’re running our popular Low-waste Cleaning workshops twice in the east and south-east of Naarm/Melbourne. This workshop is packed with practical tips on how to reduce plastic in our homes. We’ll be looking at Low-waste Gardening with Whitehorse residents, because winter is a great time to get your garden set up for a successful growing season, and it cal be done without all the plastic we typically see in nurseries.
We’re also running a few private workshops for different corporate clients this July, which is fun. We’re seeing more and more businesses and organisations wanting to help their team members tackle the cost-of-living crisis, and I love that permaculture aligns so well with that. It’s awesome to see people channelling funds into meaningful professional development that taps into all three of the foundational permaculture ethics: Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. We’ve started taking end-of-year bookings for sustainability-themed staff events, so let us know if you’d like to find out more and maybe book a fun eco-craft activity to see out the year!
We’d love to see you at one (or more!) of these events, and be sure to subscribe at the bottom of this page if you want info on following months’ free events.
