This month, during the final weekend of the Canberra Writer’s Festival, I’ll be joining two wonderful gardeny authors – Chloe Foster and Judy Friedlander – on a panel where we’ll chat about how gardening can span and connect generations through literature and Community. It’s going to be a great chat, so if you’re in Canberra for the festival, be sure to come join us!
It’s almost time to kick off the silly season with lots of exciting presentations and workshops designed to help you reduce waste and live more sustainably throughout the festive time of year. There’s going to be ornament making, wreath making, ideas on how to entertain on an environmental budget, and tasty treats to try.
But before we start jingling bells and decking halls, we’ve got a a marvellous mending workshop to share. Manningham Council is hosting a hands-on workshop where I’ll be showcasing lots of basic mending techniques, and then we’ll get stuck in to trying a few of them out. Bring along any damaged clothes you might have, and we can nut out how they could be mended.
